Think social media is losing steam? Think again!
This year the National Basketball Association held their first annual NBA Social Media Awards in which players and teams were awarded for having the most tweets, Youtube views, etc.
This event was a testament to how integral social media is to promoting a product – in this case – a sports league. Millions of viewers and fans from all over the world tune into the NBA, watch clips of the high flying dunks on Youtube, and find themselves fascinated with the Asian sensation, Jeremy Lin.
